Rescue Service
With the Smart Vault, you can set up a time-lock to protect your assets. If you lose access to your primary key, your funds will automatically unlock after a set period using a rescue key that you set up in advance. This ensures that you can always recover your assets, even in the worst-case scenario, while maintaining full control.

How the Smart Vault Works
The Smart Vault is an advanced multisig (multi-signature) system designed to provide the highest level of security and flexibility for your assets. Here’s how it works:
Three Keys, One Secure Vault
Your Smart Vault is protected by three distinct keys. To approve any transaction, two of these keys are required, ensuring your funds remain both secure and accessible when you need them.
Full Control with Your Two Keys
You hold two of the three keys, giving you complete control over your assets. For extra security, we recommend storing each key in a different location to minimize the risk of losing access.
Our Co-Signer Key: Your Backup Safety Net
The third key is securely held by 21st Capital. We cannot move your funds on our own, but if you lose one of your keys, we’re here to help you regain access to your vault and keep your assets safe.
How the Rescue Service Works
Worried about losing both of your keys? Don’t be! The Smart Vault is designed to ensure your funds remain safe and accessible, even in the worst-case scenario. Here’s how it works:
Setup Time-Lock
When setting up your vault, you can choose a time-lock period of up to 15 months. After this period, an alternative custody setup can take effect, ensuring that your funds are still recoverable if needed.
Activation
If both of your keys are lost, the alternative custody setup will automatically activate after the time-lock expires. This ensures your funds can still be accessed, even if your primary keys are unavailable.
Rescue Service
Even after the time-lock ends, we cannot move your funds alone. Our team will guide you step by step using a new key setup to securely restore your Bitcoin and ensure your assets remain safe and accessible.
